Carlos Edwin Colon Jr, aka Carlito, was born on February 21, 1979, in San Juan, Texas, United States. He completed his study and got graduated from Jesuit Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola.

Carly Colon started to work on WWC wrestling promotion as a cameraman in July 1999, with his actual name “Carly.” He had his first ring debut match in January 2000 where he defeated Felix Tapia.
During his early career in WWC, he was undefeated instead he defeated the entire locker room only in few weeks and had already won the support of WWC fans.
On January 29, 2000, Carly became the youngest wrestler to win the WWC Universal Heavyweight Championship defeating Gonzales. He continued to win the same title for 17 consecutive times and set the record to win the maximum times.
World Wrestling Entertainment
Carly signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment and was assigned to Ohio Valley Wrestling. He made his OVW debut match on July 5, 2003, as a tag team match with Luther Reigns and John Hennigan.
He soon debuted for the main roster for the championship titles. During the time on WWE, his ring name was modified to Carlito Colon or simply Carlito. On October 7, 2004, he assigned to SmackDown and defeated John Cena to become the new United States Champion.
