Dashing and very handsome, Cody Rhodes was born on June 30, 1985, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Rhodes completed his high school from Lassiter High School with a wrestling career. During his childhood, he won the Georgia state tournament at 189 pounds in 2003. He then won as champion in his senior year.

Rhodes decided to start a career as a professional wrestler than to wrestle collegiately at Pennsylvania State University. He also attended an acting class after his high school graduation.

Career

With the hand from his father, Dusty Rhodes, he didn’t have to face many difficulties to enter as a wrestler. He started his training from AI Snow, Danny Davis, Randy Orton, and Ricky Morton. He began his wrestling career from Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2006. On his first professional debut match at OVW live event in Corydon, Indiana, he lost the game.

He then teamed up with Shawn Spears as a tag team and began to start a feud with The Untouchables over the Southern Tag Team Championship. He was able to win the title on October 18. After winning the title for the second time defeating Deuce ‘n Domino in a street fight, they got separated and started to wrestle as singles.

Runnels was able to win OVW Heavyweight Championship against Paul Burchill in 2007, where he lost the title the very next day. Rhodes again defeated his rival Spears to become a new OVW Television Champion.

WWE

Rhodes joined the WWE Raw brand on July 2, 2007, where Randy Orton defeated him in his debut match. Randy had big disrespect against Dusty Rhodes, where he once kicked Rhode’s father in the head. Rhodes asked for a rematch with Randy, where he again lost the match.

After a couple of weeks later, Rhodes began to feud with Hardcore Holly and got defeated three consecutive times. Then they formed tag team partners and got a chance to win the Tag Team Title but was unsuccessful.

Cody Rhodes cheat on Holly by helping DiBiase to win the match and also becoming a two-time World Tag Team Champion. They formed with Randy Orton and started saying themselves as The Legacy. He earned his first singles title on SmackDown by defeating Ezekiel Jackson for Intercontinental Championship.

Cody Rhodes is the son of former WWE Hall of Famer “Dusty Rhodes” and half-brother of Goldust. He has two sisters, Teil Gergel and Kristin Ditto. Also, he is the nephew of former professional wrestler Jerry Sags and Fred Ottman and Magnum T.A.

He got married to fellow professional wrestler Brandi Reed in September 2013. Codes love playing video games, “The Legend of Zelda.”
