Jack Swagger Early Life and Childhood

Jack Swagger’s real name is Donald Jacob “Jake” Hager Jr., born on March 24, 1982, in Perry, Oklahoma, United States. Swagger was good at wrestling as well as mixed martial arts.

He started wrestling at the early age of five during his high school with Danny Hodge’s grandson and friends. He gave his full attention to wrestling when he was introduced to Jim Ross, who was head of talent at World Wrestling Entertainment. Ross encouraged Hager regarding his career in professional wrestling.

After graduation from the University of Oklahoma, Swagger signed with WWE after he was offered a contract to join WWE.

Swagger started his professional wrestling career through World Wrestling Entertainment WWE in 2006. Hager had a WWE tryout under his real name in Deep South Wrestling (DSW). He made his first ring debut against Antonio Mestre and got his first victory.

In August 2007, Swagger went to Florida Championship Wrestling and feud with TJ Wilson. Hager and Ted DiBiase were the final two competitors left in a 23 man battle royal for becoming the number one contender for the Florida Heavyweight Championship. Hager eliminated DiBiase and become the number one contender where he got a chance to win the title. Jack Swagger wrestle against Heath Miller, who was an FCW Heavyweight Champion. Hager defeated Heath and finally become the undisputed heavyweight champion in FCW.

ECW

Swagger became undisputed for a long time and came to an end his win streaks with William Regal in August 2008. Hager then went to ECW Championship, where he made his debut with the ring name Jack Swagger against a local competitor and won the match. Swagger starts to seek to challenge Matt Hardy for the ECW Championship after being named as the number one contender on December 30.

Swagger again defeated the titleholder, Matt Hardy, for his another title win of ECW Championship. He lost this title against Finlay on February 3 on an episode of ECW. Now that swagger lost the title ECW Championship, Swagger traded to Raw and made raw debut against WWE Champion Randy Orton targeting the title.

On March 1, 2010, Swagger defeated Santino Marella to qualify into Money in the Bank Match. He won the match and earned his place for any of the WWE Championship title. Swagger cashed his money in the bank contract on March 30 against the World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho, who had been speared by Edge. Swagger was victorious in defeating Jericho to win the World Heavyweight Championship title.

Personal Life

Jack Swagger married his love Catalina White in December 2010 and has two children whom he lives with. Swagger was once arrested in charge of possession of marijuana while driving. He was released from custody and appeared in court. The court fined his $500 for the cannabis and sentenced to six-month probation with a two-day jail sentence.

In March 2019, Swagger published his first issue of biographical comic book series, “you Don’t Know Jack”: The Jake Hager Story,” through Squared Circle Comics.
