Early Life and Childhood
Kevin Steen, whom we generally have known as Kevin Owens, was born on May 7, 1984, in his home town Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Canada. He is a French-Canadian descent who speaks French as his first language. He learned to speak English language watching WWE Monday Night Raw.
Kevin has a brother named Edward. Owens was the fund of ice hockey, soccer, and baseball but never though to develop a career out of them. He instead chooses wrestling after watching a video of a fight between Diesel and Shawn Michael at WrestleMania XI.

Kevin Owens’s Career
Owens was lucky to start his early wrestling career while he was 14. He was allowed to begin his physical training with Serge Jodoin in Quebec. He trained with Jacques Rougeau and Terry Taylor in his following year. Kevin had his first match on his 16th birthday. Before heading for international professional wrestling, he trained with Rougeau for four years.
Now, on August 16, 2003, Kevin made his first International Wrestling debut on IWS, where Carl Ouellet defeated Kevin on a triple threat match. Kevin got his shot for IWS World Heavyweight Championship after cashing his number one contender, which he won a night before. Kevin Owens was successful in defeating El Generico to win his first IWS World Heavyweight Championship.
Owens after IWS, he went to Combat Zone Wrestling, where he made his debut match on 4-Way Match against SeXXXy Eddy, El Generico, and Excess 69 and got defeated. He continued with CZW and soon teamed up with El Generico. Kevin participated in CZW Best of the Best tournament, where he reached the final round after defeating Chris Hero and Kenny The Bastard. He was unfortunately defeated at the final round, which was a fatal four-way match.
Ring of Honor
Kevin then traveled to Ring of Honor on February 17, 2007. There he again teamed with El Generico. Owens and El Generico were great partners for wrestling where they got many significant victories together against Jason Blade and Eddie Edwards and The Irish Airborne. Owens and El Generico also won the ROH World Tag Team Championship, which they lost against Briscoe Brothers.
Again they participated in the new ROH World Tag Team Championship tournament, where they won the first two matches to reach the final round. But still got the terrible loss after reaching the final round.
Kevin made his WWE debut match on May 18, 2014, at the episode of Raw accepting the challenge of John Cena’s United States Championship Open Challenge match. He attacked Cena and stomped on the United States title showing total disrespect to Cena. Owens lost against Cena for the United States Championship match took place at Battleground.
Kevin then targeted Intercontinental Championship, where he defeated Ryback at the Night of Champions to win his first singles, the Intercontinental Championship. Kevin started showing interest in WWE World Heavyweight Championship, where he lost with Dean Ambrose and entered a feud with Ambrose. Owens lost his Intercontinental Championship to Ambrose at TLC (Tables, Ladders, and Chairs) match.
On August 22, 2016, at an episode of Raw, Owens defeated Neville to qualify for the shot at becoming number one contender for Universal Championship Title. At the fatal-four-way elimination match for the Universal Title, Kevin defeated Big Cass, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins to become Universal Championship with the help of Triple H interference.

Kevin Owens is a happily married man with Karina Lamer, along with two children. He named his son Owen after Owen Hart and daughter name Elodie Leila. Kevin’s father’s name is Terry Steen, and his mother’s name is Suzanne Steen. Kevin and Karina hold a matching tattoo on their arm where Karina has an inscription “Beauty” while Kevin has tattooed “Beast.”
