In recognition of his philanthropy and contributions to commerce and business in Jamaica, Chin received the Order of Jamaica, the nation’s fourth-highest civilian honor, in 2001.
Chin was also awarded honorary degrees from the University of Technology, Jamaica, and Northern Caribbean University. Driven by his belief in the power of entrepreneurship, Chin established the Lasco Chin Foundation.

Lascelles Chin Wife, Eileen Chin, is also a businesswoman like her husband. Their union came about after Lascelles divorced his ex-wife, Audrey Chin.
Born in Havana City, Cuba, Eileen Chin obtained a post-graduate degree in medicine from Havana University School of Medicine.
Her specialization in histology led her to teach at the Girón School of Medicine until she migrated to Jamaica in 1998.
Eileen Chin joined the LASCO Group of Companies in 1999 and held various positions, including marketing, product and label development, and international business development for Central and South American markets.
Eileen was appointed General Manager of LASCO Foods, LASCO Food (Successors) Limited, and LASCO Properties in 2008.
She became the Managing Director of LASCO Manufacturing Limited in 2010, overseeing a large expansion of the company’s production plant.
Lascelles Chin’s wife held the role until March 2015 before resigning immediately after major disagreements with her husband.
With an MBA in Global Management and expertise in negotiation, risk management, and Lean Six Sigma, Dr. Eileen Chin is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Directors of LASCO Manufacturing Limited and LASCO Distributors Limited.
