Mikala Jones Death Cause Linked To Accident
Tragedy struck the surfing community as news of Mikala Jones’ untimely demise spread. According to a report published by Surfline, the seasoned surfer’s death was the result of a surfing accident.
44-year-old Mikala had been enjoying a family vacation at the Awera Resort in North Sipora when the unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday, July 9th, around 9:15 am.
Following the accident, the management of Awera Resort promptly contacted the Mentawai Hospital, which dispatched a team to transport Mikala from Tuapejat Pier.
Despite their best efforts, he was tragically pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The report states that Mikala suffered a severe wound to the inside of his left groin, measuring approximately 10 centimetres.
It is believed that the injury was caused by a surfboard fin, leading to a severing of the femoral artery. The resulting blood loss was critical and affected his brain, ultimately taking his life.
