Career
Rhyno started his training for a professional wrestling career since his early life at Can-Am Wrestling School in Windsor, Ontario. He then went to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) with his trainer Scott D’Amore. Rhyno had his first professional match on March 10, 1995.
He went to World Championship Wrestling (WCW) with a ring name Rhino Richards. There he lost most of the matches where he was involved in. On November 6, 1995, in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), he lost the debut against Henry O. Godwinn on an episode of Monday Night Raw. Rhyno defeated Breyer Wellington at the dark match on June 29, 1998.
Extreme Championship Wrestling
Gerin made his ECW debut in 1999 as Rhino, where he immediately formed with Steve Corino and Jack Victory. Rhino and Corino challenged for ECW World Tag Team Championship at Anarchy Rulz against Tommy Dreamer and Raven but got defeated.
Rhyno lost his chance of winning World Television Championship, losing the Super Crazy tournament in the finals. He then finally won the title from Yoshihiro Tajiri at CyberSlam and lost to Kid Kash.
He began to feud with Sandman for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship title, which he won on January 7, 2001, at Guilty as Charged. Gerin successfully defended the title against Sandman and Spike Dudley. Rhyno then held World Heavyweight Champion and World Television Champion at the same time.
World Wrestling Federation
Rhyno went to WWF on March 19, 2001, where he made his debut along with Edge and Christian. He helped Edge and Christian on defeating The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz for the WWF Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania Seventeen.
As of singles title, Rhyno was successful in winning WWF Hardcore Championship against the Kane. Rhyno joined Team RECK that includes Rhyno, Edge, Christian, and Kurt Angle. They reached semi-finals of King of the Ring, but eventually, Rhyno was eliminated by Edge, his teammate.
Rhyno then invaded WWF with his ECW wrestling mates led by Paul Heyman. They had a five-on-five match where Rhyno was also included. They won the game defeating WWF wrestlers. On September 23, he won WCW United States Championship title against Tajiri, which he held the title for a month and lost to Kurt Angle.
Personal Life of Rhyno
Rhyno represents for the Michigan House of Representatives of his hometown Dearborn. With the approval of WWE owner Vince McMahon, he would run as a Republican. Gerin won the Republican Primary and faced the Democratic winner, but Gerin got defeated by Hammoud in the election.
