Born on August 27, 1972, in a Punjabi village of Dhiraina of Himachal Pradesh India. The Great Khali’s father and mother were Jwala Ram and Tandi Devi. He was the seventh child of the low-income family, which led me to do odd jobs to make a living.

Dalip used to be a security guard in Shimla, where he saw a police officer from Punjab. He then starts showing interest in being a police officer and finally was able in 1993. After that, he began to train his body and become a local wrestler then after many years went to the United States for a professional wrestling career.

He started his life’s professional wrestling career from All Pro Wrestling (APW) in the United States. The Great Khali made his first appearance in October 2000 against the West Side Playaz. Also, he came to San Francisco and signed a contract with World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

Dalip Singh Rana slowly got famous and started to have offers from more prominent places to wrestle. Khali went to New Japan Pro-Wrestling through a proposal along with another big man, Giant Silva. There, they became the tallest tag team wrestlers in history with a combined weight of 805 pounds and an average height of 7 foot and 2 inches.

Khali also went to Mexico for wrestling in 2002 for promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and Japanese promotion All Japan Pro Wrestling until 2006. After many tours and different countries, Khali finally got an offer to sign with WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). Dalip Singh became the first Indian professional wrestler to be signed and wrestled in WWE.

Dalip Singh made his ring debut of SmackDown, defeating Funaki. Great Khali then picked his opponent against World Champion Rey Mysterio, where Khali defeated Mysterio in a squash match. On May 21, against The Undertaken at Judgement Day, Khali defeated The Undertaker with the help of Daivari, his manager.

He competes The Undertaker at SummerSlam as a Last Man Standing Match where The Undertaker defeated Khali, and Dalip Singh got his first definite loss in WWE. On 8 January 2007, Khali went to Raw and would wrestle against John Cena in the main event. Khali got his first Wrestlemania match against Kane, where he won the game with Khali Bomb.

He got to number one contender for WWE Championship against John Cena after defeating Michaels. At Judgement Day against Cena, Khali was defeated by submission to Cena’s STFU. Also, on June 11, Khali was transferred to SmackDown, where He made his next move against World Heavyweight Championship Batista.

During a twenty-man battle royal on July 20 of SmackDown, Dalip eliminated his last two competitors Batista and Kane, and won his first World Heavyweight Championship Title. He dominated both Batista and Kane with his finisher called Khali Vise-Grip. Khali then competes with Rey Mysterio, where Batista interfered to save Mysterio. Suddenly, Batista challenged Dalip Singh for World Heavyweight Championship, where Khali’s 61 days reign ended after Batista delivered Khali with a spinebuster. Khali then challenged Batista for a rematch in a Punjabi Prison match in where Khali lost a game by falling out the Prison after Batista landed.
