The Velveteen Dream, aka Patrick Clark Jr., is American professional wrestling currently working on the developmental territory of NXT. He had also participated in WWE Tough Enough VI before joining NXT. The 2015 edition of Tough Enough has extracted two main-roster Superstars till now – Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose – but the most prominent future star that everyone has their eye on seems to be none other than Velveteen Dream.
Patrick Clark has impressed WWE fans with his superior wrestling skills and aggressive aura, but his lack of humility and perceived arrogance has failed to connect with the mass. Despite winning the men’s skills challenge in three consecutive years, Clark was eliminated from the Tough Enough at Week 5 due to a lack of audience’s vote.

Early Career
Patrick received the professional wrestling training at the Maryland Championship Wrestling training center from Patrick Brink. He was recognized as a gifted athlete by the trainers at the Center. After training for four months, he made his first in-ring debut on the 3rd of October 2014 under the ring name Rick Powers at the MCW Waldorf Warfare event. He lost to Kai Katana at his debut match.
Since then, he went on performing on the promotions of the independent circuit. To name a few; World Xtreme Wrestling, Combat Zone Wrestling, Primal Conflict Wrestling, Marvelous Puroresu USA, National Wrestling League, House of Pain Federation, etc. While playing for the independent circuit, he won Maryland Championship Wrestling Tag Team Championship with his partner Lio Rush in October 2015.
Tough Enough VI
Following his victory on MCW, Velveteen went on to participate for the sixth season of the WWE reality television program WWE Tough Enough in June 2015. Despite being tapped as one of the favorite contestants, he got eliminated in the fifth episode as people didn’t like his arrogant and audacious persona.
After being eliminated, Clark got assigned to the developmental territory of WWE on October 17, 2015. He made his first debut match at NXT Live event in Lakeland, Florida, on February 5, 2016, where he got defeated by Riddick Moss. The dream went on losing several games against Austin Series, Nakamura, and many others. However, he was not a man to give up. He knew he was there to stay. Proving to be one of the most beautiful wrestlers in WWE, he stunned WWE fans with explicit performance in the match against Sean Maluta.
NXT
On May 24, 2014, episode of NXT, Clark adopted an entirely exotic prince-like character and called himself Velveteen Dream. In September, he began a feud with Aleister Black. He constantly stalked and harassed Black to acknowledge Dream, which led to a match at NXT TakeOver: WarGames, where he got defeated by Black. Although Dream lost all encounters against Aleister Black, it was rated as Dream’s Best Performance so far.
