In 2005, Vickie made her first cameo appearance on Smackdown in a storyline involving Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. Her life changed when her husband died abruptly with a heart attack on November 13, 2005. Within a half year of her husband’s death, she started making regular appearances on Smackdown. Vickie ended up taking the side of her nephew, Chavo, when Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero were feuding. The following feud led to the ‘I Quit’ match between Rey Vs. Chavo in which Chavo won with the help of Vickie. After the victory, Vickie started acting aggressive and feuded with several WWE superstars. In December of 2006, Chavo betrayed Vickie and pushed her over, which led to bad blood between two.
Also, in an interview of 2007, she stated how she wished Chavo and Chris would let go of the past and let her concentrate on her career instead. In May of 2007, Vickie was hired as a General Manager Assistant on Smackdown.

And while he was recovering, Guerrero took over the entire responsibilities of GM. Vickie then became romantically involved with Edge and is now a heel GM. Guerrero uses her nasty games and tricks to help Edge get what he wants, which has made her one of the most hated people on Smackdown. She even helped him win the World Heavyweight Championship with her cheap tricks.
On the June 8th episode of Raw, Vickie Guerrero announced that she would leave her job as the GM of Raw because she is tired of the WWE audience laughing and mocking at her. Vickie pretended to be hurt and even cried as she made her announcement. Things turned way too obnoxious when Edge’s music hit, and he made his way to the ring. Edge told her that he wanted a divorce. He revealed that he was using her for power as a GM. Now that she was leaving her job, she had become useless to him.
