Her right index finger has the first one, which reads “Just be.”

Kang remarked she got that one when she was 17. Her parents used to always tell her to just be herself, just be whoever she wants, just be whatever she wants to be.

In 2014 Kang received her second tattoo after the passing of her father, K.S. Kang. She has the Korean word “Dad” written on the outside of her right hand.

She got in there so that when she shook somebody’s hand for the first time they could also meet her Dad.

Early Life Of Danielle Kang

On October 20, 1992, Kang was born in San Francisco. Born to South Korean parents K.S. Kang and Grace Lee, Kang is a Korean-American.

Alex, her brother, was a San Diego State golfer. She started dating the Las Vegas-based professional golfer Maverick McNealy in 2018, but their relationship terminated in 2021.

Raised in Southern California, she qualified for the 2007 U.S. Women’s Open at the age of 14.

She attended Oak Park High School for her high school education before moving early to Westlake High School in preparation for her 2010 spring college start at Pepperdine University in Malibu.

As a junior golfer, Kang competed regularly on the Southern California PGA Junior Tour, sharing the field with former SCPGA members Lizette Salas and Brianna Do.

In the spring of 2011, Kang participated in the Pepperdine golf team’s regular season.

She expressed her disappointment at not being able to participate in the 2011 NCAA post-season due to an academic ruling.

Kang participated in all four majors as an amateur in 2011 and won the U.S. Women’s Amateur in 2010.

Three majors saw her cut, including the LPGA Championship, where she was the only player not playing professionally.

At the Women’s British Open, Kang tied for 49th place, making her the low amateur.

She became the first player in fifteen years to win consecutive titles in August 2011 when she replicated her victory at the U.S. Women’s Amateur.
