Harper had his first career debut match in 2003 for Roc City Wrestling (RCW) wearing a mask. Later he removed the facial mask and went to Rochester Pro Wrestling (RPW) with the ring name Brodie Lee. Chikara (2007 – 2012)
Luke Harper made his first Chikara debut on March 24, 2007, at the event “Time Will Prove Everything.” He lost his debut match against Equinox but got a rematch and won the game. After the game, he made a streak of winning a continuous competition for the rest of the year. He formed a tag team partner with Olsen Twins and named as a Big Rig.
Harper feud with Claudio Castagnoli, where his first match and second match was disqualified after accidentally kicking the referee on the game. This led them to have a no disqualification match where harper won the event with interference by Shayne Hawke and Mitch Ryder.
Squared Circle Wrestling (2007 – 2012)
Luke made his debut match on August 20, 2007, teaming with Colin Olsen and got the victory against Wyld Stallyns. He became a famous wrestler after a game where he punched a fan in the parking area. He was suspended from Squared Circle Wrestling due to the incident. Luke Harper returned after a couple of months on October 24, leading NWA Upstate to a victory in the eight-man tag team match.
He defeated Brown in rubber match and on two-out-of-three falls match to end their feud. Luke defeated Isys Ephex to become the number one contender for the 2CW Heavyweight Championship match and also won the title defeating Jason Axe.
World Wrestling Entertainment (2012 – 2014)
Luke Harper signed a developmental contract with WWE, where he made his debut match at a house show. He made his television debut on November 7, following Bray Wyatt, the founder of The Wyatt Family. Luke was the first son of The Wyatt Family, and Erick Rowan was the second son. Harper and Rowan became the tag team partner who won the NXT tag team championship by defeating Adrian Neville and Bo Dallas.
The Wyatt Family made their wired debut by assaulting and attacking Kane. Harper and Rowan made multiple tag team streaks over the next few months. The Wyatt Family started a feud against The Shield, whom they defeated at the Elimination Chamber match. Harper won the Intercontinental Championship match against the Dolph Ziggler after interference from Seth Rollins.
