Nia, just like many fellow superstars, also comes from a family of wrestlers. Her father Joseph, was a cousin of wrestler Peter Maivia. And again, let’s not forget that she is also The Rock‘s cousin.
Fanene’s grandma still lives in Sydney, where she was born. She, along with her aunt Ata Maivia Johnson, were even hospitalized after being hit by a drunk driver. This incident took place at Clermont, Florida, on August 2nd, 2014.

Nia‘s career began in 2014 when she was signed by WWE and assigned to their developmental territory of NXT. Initially, she began wrestling with the ring name Zada. During her time here, she slowly developed a heel persona.
She even came very close to winning NXT Women’s Championship. But she couldn’t crown herself the champion as she lost to the formidable Asuka. This was also her last match in NXT.
