Tommy Dreamer Professional Wrestling Career
Early Wrestling Career (1989 – 1993)
Thomas began his physical training for the wrestling career in 1989 where he was professionally trained by Johnny Rodz. He initially worked in International World Class Championship Wrestling (IWCCW) under the ring name T.D. Madison.
There he along with his brother G.Q. won IWCCW Tag Team Championship three times in 1991. Since then he changed his ring name to Tommy Dreamer in tribute to Dusty Rhodes.
In October 1993, Tommy Dreamer joined Eastern Championship Wrestling (ECW) at NWA Bloodfest. He became the first person to kick out of the pin that follows the Superfly Splash of Jimmy Snuka at The Night the Line Was Crossed.
World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment(2001 – 2010)
Dreamer after leaving ECW wrestling promotion, he went to several independent leagues like Jersey All Pro Wrestling and Combat Zone Wrestling. He then signed with World Wrestling Federation (WWF) on July 9, 2001.
He was assigned on the Raw Brand where he was proclaimed as “Just a Regular Guy“. Tommy became the final person to hold Hardcore Championship before it became unified with the Intercontinental Championship.
After losing the hardcore championship title he was used less on WWE television. Dreamer as a major part of ECW, along with other former ECW wrestlers took part in promotional hype for the event of Raw.
