Born on June 16, 2000, she played tennis from age seven. However, she became a tennis sensation after defeating Serena Williams, the top player in women’s tennis, to win her first Grand Slam title.
Andreescu became the first Canadian player and the youngest teenager to win a Grand Slam since Maria Sharapova in 2006.
