Beautiful Io was formerly engaged to a fellow Japanese professional wrestler Nosawa. She and Kazushige Nosawa even lived together in Koto, Tokyo, for some time. Unfortunately, they broke up their relationship after some time. Apart from this, all we know about Odate is that she has a sister named Mio. Like herself, Mio Shirai is also a former professional wrestler and a professional wrestling referee.
Masami Odate has also had some legal problems in the past. On May 23rd, 2012, she and Nosawa were arrested at the airport in Narita, Chiba. They were returning from Mexico and were under suspicion of trying to smuggle marijuana. Both of them denied the accusations, and she was released from the detention center on June 12th of the same year. It was after that, she and Nosawa also ended their relationship. However, later it was found out that the drugs were planted by a Mexico-based Japanese wrestler named Takuya Sugi. It turned out that he had a personal grudge with Nosawa and did that heinous act to get back at him.
