Proceeding through the residence, they stumbled upon Miss Marshall’s handbag, its contents strewn across a table.
The unsettling search ended when the police, conducting a thorough investigation, found Miss Marshall’s lifeless body in the garden shed. She had been brutally murdered, with a garden fork impaling her throat.
Promptly following the discovery, authorities initiated an inquiry into the murder. Nick Mannouch, known for his dubious reputation, was among the first individuals questioned.
Mannouch revealed that he had been in the company of Peter Luckhurst on the day in question.
The following day, both Luckhurst and Mannouch were apprehended and brought to Ashford police station for further questioning. Initially, Luckhurst vehemently denied any connection to Enfield Lodge.
