Early Life of Ryback

Ryan Aleen Reeves (Ryback) was born on November 10, 1981, in Las Vegas, United States. Ryback began to show interest in professional wrestler since the age of eight. He also became a bell ringer at a live promotion of World Wrestling Federation at the age of 12.

To achieve his dream of being a professional wrestler, he began to weight lifting since 12 years of age. During his high school at Western High School and Palo Verde High School, he was excellent at baseball and football.

Ryback completed his college at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on the fitness management program. After his study, he quickly began to train for his professional wrestling career and also worked part-time at Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino.

Reeves to fulfil his aim as a professional wrestler in one of the best wrestling promotion, WWE, he sent a videotape of himself on WWE’s reality television series, $1,000,000 Tough Enough.

He was appointed to Venice Beach along with 49 other performers. Though he was successful to become inside the top eight wrestlers he was voted off at the last. Although he was not selected for SmackDown, he was appointed to join developmental contracts.

Reeves was assigned to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) in early March of 2006. During his drug test and a part of WWE’s Wellness policy, he got failed due to overconsumption of counter bodybuilding supplements.

With a month of suspension and almost a year of absence, he returned and re-signed in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) where he was called as Skip Sheffield.

The Nexus

Sheffield became a part of Nexus and one of eight FCW contestant on February 16, 2010. He finished sixth on overall competition on first season of WWE’s new NXT show.

Nexus was the villainous gang that would attack the wrestlers interfering on their on-going match and beat up by all the member of Nexus. Their most target was John Cena with whom their feud lasts for many weeks.

This led to seven-on-seven elimination tag team match at 2010 SummerSlam between team Cena and team Nexus where Nexus lose the match.

WWE Championship pursuits

Reeves after breaking up with Nexus returned to WWE SmackDown on April 6, 2012, under the ring name “Ryback.” He got unbeaten streak until he was finally defeated by CM Punk at Hell in a Cell match in October 2012.

Ryback failed to win WWE Championship title twice due to interference of The Shield. On January 27, at Royal Rumble, he eliminated five other wrestlers before getting eliminated by John Cena.

His gimmick “Feed Me More” began to love by many fans which became his finisher move. Ryback’s first professional wrestling championship in WWE was winning the vacant Intercontinental Championship title at Elimination Chamber defeating Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth, King Barrett and Mark Henry.
