Her journey was marked by an unfortunate marriage to Allen Blackthorne, a wealthy San Antonio businessman, which culminated in a contentious divorce.
In 1982, Sheila and Allen tied the knot and had two daughters, Stevie and Daryl. Unfortunately, their marriage was plagued by turmoil, with both parties accusing each other of child abuse.

Determined to inflict harm upon Sheila, Blackthorne resorted to hiring a hitman, Daniel Alex Rocha, through a mutual acquaintance.
Rocha, swayed by false allegations of Sheila’s mistreatment of her own children, enlisted the help of Samuel Gonzales, who, in turn, introduced him to his cousin, Jose Luis Del Toro.
Del Toro agreed to carry out the brutal attack for a chilling sum of $14,000, to which the millionaire Allen Blackthorne agreed.
On November 7, 1997, Del Toro, armed and clad in camouflage attire, made his way to Sheila’s residence in Sarasota, Florida.
