In his Facebook post, Abbas is said to be writing “Jumma Mubarak,” which according to Mishkaha Academy means “happy Friday” or “have a blessed Friday.” Muslims have their special prayers on Friday.

Similarly, looking at another instance, when the opportunity for Abbas to be a speaker emerged, a special prayer was held for him by the people of his community. As per Sun News Online, the prayers were held at the Zaria Central Mosque on Monday, which was headed by prominent Islamic clerics. So, Abbas has a strong relationship with Islam.

On the other hand, people have also speculated that the leader’s religion is Jewish, but Nigerian history shows that only the people of the Igbo tribe have been Jewish. It is common knowledge that Abbas is not of that tribe.

Moreover, Tajudeen’s name itself is of Arabic origin and is counted as an Islamic name, where Tajudeen means the crown of the religion in simple language. However, the name has a deeper meaning based on Islam. Regardless of Tajudeen Abbas’s religion, his capability as a politician is what should be judged.
