Anna Gainey father, Bob Gainey, is one of the best and the coolest ice hockey players in history. He is well known for his swift play, exceptional defensive skills, and strong work ethic.
Born on December 13, 1953, Bob was interested in ice hockey from a very young age. Having entered the field of ice hockey in 1972, he first played for his hometown team Peterborough Petes.
Gainey was drafted as the eighth overall pick by the Montreal Canadiens in 1973, where he played his entire career. In a career spanning from 1973-1989, the pro player played in 1160 regular season games, scored 239 goals, and registered 263 assists on his name for the Canadiens.
Further, he served as a hockey coach after retiring from his active play. Anna Gainey Father worked as a coach and executive for the Minnesota North Stars/Dallas Stars before returning to Montreal as general manager from 2003 to 2010.
