He advanced through the ranks due to his hard work and commitment, eventually becoming a Senior Technical Specialist and receiving the prestigious CFA award in 1991.

Robbyn, Craig’s sister, recalls him as a funny and loving person who cherished his family. He made everyone around him smile with his mischievous sense of humor. In 1993, Craig married Laura Asam, and they started a family together.

However, financial difficulties strained their relationship, leading to Laura eventually filing for divorce in 2014. The former couple was fighting for the custody of their two younger children when Craig’s life was brutally cut short at 50.

Craig Rideout lived a life full of promise and success, but a violent crime tragically ended it. His humor, commitment, and love for his family are remembered by his sister, who continues to carry his legacy of strength and love.

Craig Rideout Wife And Children

As mentioned earlier, Craig and Laura Rideout married in 1993. They had seven children together, three daughters and four sons, namely Colin, Alexandar, Andrew, Elizabeth, Julia, Patrick, and Madeline.

After things started running down the drain for the couple, Laura filed a divorce case with full custody of her children. Four of the children were minors at that time. Craig Rideout was given custody of two younger children, Patrick and Madeline, who were 12 and 5.

In an attempt to gain custody of their children, Laura and Colin devised a plan to frame Craig for child abuse. However, their scheme failed, and Laura and her boyfriend, Paul Tucci, began preparations to move to North Carolina with the children she still had custody of.

The events leading up to Craig’s murder took a threatening turn when Craig suddenly disappeared, prompting his sister Robbyn, who lived nearby, to visit his home.

On visiting, she encountered Laura cleaning the kitchen countertop, who hastily left and claimed Craig was not present. Robbyn then noticed her brother’s car missing and promptly reported him missing to the authorities.

The investigation uncovered crucial evidence when a farmer reported seeing two figures with two cars parked on the side of the road. This led the police to discover Craig Rideout’s mutilated body in a forested area.

While his case has been widely covered, not much information about his young children has been publicized after his death. It may be the effort of police authorities to maintain their privacy.

However, a report published by Democrat & Chronicle in 2018 mentioned that two of his younger children were still in school while his elder daughters, Elizabeth and Julia, started college.

The same article also mentioned that his second child Andrew had started serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in South Carolina.

Were His Family Involved in His Murder?

Yes, it was found that his family, including his wife, Laura, and his sons Colin and Alexander, were involved in his killing. Evidence, including a garrote, blood splatters, and a replaced phone, pointed to the involvement of Laura, Colin, and Alexander in the murder.

The subsequent trial resulted in Laura and Colin being convicted of first and second-degree murder, while Alexander was found guilty of evidence tampering. Her boyfriend, Paul Tucci, was acquitted of all charges, although suspicions lingered regarding his possible involvement.

The evidence presented in court, such as surveillance footage showing Laura and her boyfriend purchasing items like drain cleaners and bungee cords prior to the murder, linked the defendants to the crime.
