A public park is the site of a search today in connection with Jon Jonsson missing person who vanished from view five years ago.
Gardai in Dublin have started searching the Santry Demense after receiving ‘anonymous correspondences’ about Jon Jonsson’s abduction last week.
The 41-year-old Icelandic man left the Bonnington Hotel on Swords Road in Whitehall, the capital, at around 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019.
He was last seen strolling past the entrance to Highfield Hospital, toward the Collins Avenue intersection.
Today, the Ballymun Gardai, who are in charge of the missing man’s investigation, started looking for Jon near the Santry Demesne, which is around 3.5 kilometers from his last known location.
Specialized cadaver dogs and an underwater unit provided support for them. The park, which has a lake, an island, and forests, is where the search is expected to go on today and tomorrow.
It is understood that the information in the two letters is ambiguous, which is why Gardai begged the writer to get in touch with them just a few days ago.
It was a component of a relaunched search for Jon’s whereabouts.
Is He Found Yet?
No, he is not found yet.
Last Monday, a spokesman for the Garda added: “The investigation team has evaluated the contents of two anonymous pieces of mail that were received throughout the investigation.”
The writer(s) of those letters are urged to get in touch with the Garda investigating team directly. All correspondence will be handled with the utmost discretion.
“Anyone who has any information on Jon’s disappearance or who can assist in locating him is asked to contact Ballymun Garda Station on 01 6664400, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
When Jon Jonsson was last seen, he was reportedly six feet tall, with a medium frame, short brown hair, and a black padded jacket.
Mr. Jonsson had traveled to Ireland for a holiday and to attend a poker tournament with his fiancée. On Friday, February 8th, he landed in Dublin, and Jana Gudjonsdottir followed the next day.
Three and a half kilometers is roughly how far away Jon Jonsson was last seen from the park.
His brother David Karl and sister Anna Hildur went to Dublin last week to assist gardaà with a new information request.
For Ms. Hildur and her siblings, her brother is “like a second dad” and is referred to as “the rock of the family”.
She claimed that her brother “had plans for his life” and that his disappearance “is a mystery”. Not a trace has been found at all.
