Rami Sebei, a Canadian professional wrestler who is currently signed to WWE, who is famous for his ring name Sami Zyan. He is a former NXT Champion and Five-time World Tag Team Champion wrestler who is now a proud member of WWE who is currently managing Nakamura because of his shoulder injury.

Early Life and Childhood

Very talented and artistic, Sami was born on July 12, 1984, in Laval, Quebec, Canada. Both his parents are from Syria as Muslims who were immigrated to Canada. Sami Zyan is right in his vocal talent and also fluent in Arabic, English, and French. During his childhood, he took wrestling training from Patty, the kid, Savio Vega, and Jerry Tuite.

WWE Superstar Sami Zyan started his professional wrestling career joining the International Wrestling Syndicate on July 14, 2002. He defeated Kevin Steen at Payback’s A Bitch as his first-ever singles match against each other. On June 15, 2004, Zyan defeated PCO in the IWS title match and won his first IWS World Heavyweight Championship.

In 2004, IWS members started to participate in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), and slowly, Zyan became a regular member of PWG. There he won PWG World Tag Team Championship five times with his partners; Human Tornado, Quicksilver, Kevin Steen, and Paul London. Sami Zyan was a successful Tag Team Championship in his entire wrestling career.

Sami Zyan then targeted for the single title, PWG World Champion, for which he made feud against his former partner, Tornado. At Battle of Los Angeles. He defeated Tornado and won PWG World Championship.

Chikara

Sami Zyan made his Chikara debut on February 19, 2005, participating in Tag World Grand Prix with his partner Kevin Steen. They made up to the quarterfinals then got defeated by SuperFriends. After a long year in 2011, Sami won Rey de Voladores defeating Pinkie Sanchez, Zack Sabre, Jr, and Marshe Rockett, then finally the 1-2-3 kid in finals.

Ring of Honor

Zyan wrestled for ROH in 2005, getting teamed up with Dunn and Marcos in Trios Tournament, but they got defeated against Rottweilers. Sebei returned ROH in 2006 at Dethroned, where he was again defeated this time by Brent Albright. Sebei teamed up with Kevin Steen to fight against Briscoe Brothers, where they were defeated at Fifth Year Festival.

Sami Zyan then, as a single competitor, defeated multiple wrestlers on the race to the Top of Tournament of 2007. He reached up to the final round hen got defeated by Claudio Castagnoli. Zyan and Kevin Steen finally were victorious to win the ROH World Tag Team Championship by defeating The Age of the Fall at Driven.

WWE

Sami Zyan signed WWE in January 2013 and is still a member of WWE. He made his WWE debut as a tag team on a live event in Tampa, Florida. He defeated two former champions of WWE, Curt Hawkins, and Antonio Cesario.

Sebei was rewarded for an NXT title match against Neville while Neville was injured. Taking the advantage, Sebei defeated Neville and retain the title. Since Neville was wounded during the title match, he requested for a rematch where again Sebei proved as an NXT Championship.

On May 4, 2015, Bret Hart introduced Zyan as a competitor for John Cena’s U.S. Open Challenge. Although Zyan lost the match against Cena, the crowd gave his outstanding ovation. After some time, Zyan got a shoulder injury and went for MRI and further analysis.
