Spanish professional basketball player Izan Almansa plays for the NBA G League Ignite.
He is the first non-American MVP in the history of the U-17 World Cup. At first, Izan had dreamed of being a professional soccer player and until nine years old he used to be part of the school soccer team.
But in 2014, he got a craze in basketball when one of his friends sign up for the basketball team. Initially, he started playing basketball at UCAM Murcia, however, in 2019 he was recruited by Real Madrid.
Izan’s qualities, professionalism, and height attracted the professional authority and the coaches of Real Madrid.
He played during the 2020-21 season with Real Madrid, and after that, he set off to Atlanta to be part of the higher-performance Academy- Overtime Elite.
Almansa has a good profile on the national basketball team. He led the national under-17 team to the finals of the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup and won the silver medal.
Then, again in 2022, he represented the national U-18 team at the FIBA U18 European Champion in Turkey and returned home with the Gold medal and winning trophy.
On June 30, 2023, Izan signed with the NBA G League Ignite. Now, he will devote himself to the national team in the Basketball league and prove his skills and technique for Basketball proficiency.

Steve Horton was born on June 7, 2005, in Murcia, Spain to the former basketball player Steve Horton and his mother Christina Almansa. At first, Izan was involved in football, however, his mother suggested him on joining the basketball team of the school.
Christina also invested money in sending him to various basketball summer camps.
Furthermore, Izan’s mother Christina Almansa has a good hand to direct her son’s track toward basketball. She took him to try out basketball in various basketball teams but none of the attempts worked out.
However, Izan eventually joined the basketball team tagging his close friend. At that time Izan’s mother Christina must be the happiest person ever.
Besides his mother, Izan holds a special place for his grandmother and he respects her.
When he won the Under-18 European tournament in 2022, he dedicated his win to his grandmother and announced the win through his Instagram post.
Notably, Izan now has a new companion in his life. She is Noa Comesaña who is a college basketball player for Columbia University, New York.
